Beyond Certification:

Why we became a B Corp

Becoming a B Corp is often seen as a starting point. For us, however, it isn’t.

This certification formalizes something that has shaped how we’ve operated since the beginning.

We believe in a form of tourism that creates value beyond the economic realm—one that considers people, communities, and the environments in which we work. Operating across Peru and Chile means working within complex, interconnected systems, often in regions facing significant social and environmental challenges. In these contexts, decisions are never isolated. They are shaped by geography, relationships, and on-the-ground realities, often involving trade-offs with no perfect solution.

From the beginning, QN Travel has chosen to build a tourism model with social and territorial impact, seeking to generate value for our business, our team, local communities, the natural environments in which we operate, and the industry as a whole. We don’t see ourselves as observers of change but as active participants in shaping a more responsible and balanced way of traveling.

Over time, certain principles have become non-negotiable:

  • Who we choose to work with matters

  • How value is distributed across each journey matters

  • How we operate in places under pressure matters

  • The stories of those places matter as well

However, principles alone are fragile.

As operations grow, complexity increases: more people, more territories, and more moving parts are involved. Without structure, even the strongest intentions can begin to drift. This is where B Corp becomes relevant.

It provides a governance framework that allows us to measure our actions, track progress over time, align decision-making across teams and territories, and undergo external verification. It doesn't define our values, but it helps us maintain them. Certification, on its own, is static. It is accountability that gives it meaning over time.

Looking forward, this is not a fixed milestone but a direction of travel. As we expand across the region, the B Corp framework will serve as a constant—helping us scale with intention, deepen our impact, and ensure that growth strengthens, rather than compromises, the values we’ve built from the beginning.
